Though some days get above zero Fahrenheit, they rarely get above freezing - after all, this is the coldest city in the US! During wintertime, the temperature is almost always below 0˚ at night and usually stays that way during the day. In September, temperatures begin to drop, with cooler winter temperatures and snow beginning in October. Summers in Fairbanks are similar to spring in the lower 48, with temperature highs between 60˚ and 80˚F, and nighttime lows in the 40˚s to 50˚s.
